Brand Designer
We are seeking a Brand Designer with a strong, diverse portfolio demonstrating expertise across a variety of design disciplines.
Who We Are
Cueball Creatives is a design-first creative agency delivering brand identity, graphic design, motion graphics, and digital design for clients across industries. We move fast, we care about craft, and we hold our work to a high standard — for every client, every time.
We're growing, and with hat growth comes the need for a Brand Designer who doesn't just execute — someone who leads thinking, shapes identity, and produces world-class work across every format.
The role
This is a full-spectrum brand design role. You will work on two tracks simultaneously:
- Internal: Owning and evolving Cueball's own brand — our visual identity, tone, and how we show up in the market.
- Client work: Delivering brand strategy, identity design, and production-ready assets for our clients across logo design, print, packaging, digital, and marketing collateral.
You'll lead brand projects from the first brief to final delivery. On smaller projects you'll work independently. On larger ones, you may guide junior designers or coordinate with the wider team. Either way, the quality is your responsibility.
What you'll do
Brand strategy & identity
- Define brand positioning and visual direction for clients — not just execute a moodboard, but understand the business and build an identity that fits it
- Design logo systems with proper variants: primary, secondary, favicon, mono, reversed
- Develop complete brand identity packages: color systems, typography, iconography, imagery direction
- Write and deliver brand guidelines that clients and junior designers can actually follow
- Lead brand presentations — articulate the thinking, not just show the visuals
- Conduct competitor research and market analysis to inform brand strategy
Design & execution — digital
- Design social media templates, digital ads, email headers, and web banners
- Build Canva or Figma brand template kits clients can use without breaking the brand
- Create pitch decks and presentation templates that feel on-brand and polished
- Design UI screens or landing page layouts when projects require it
Design & execution — print
- Design and prepare print-ready files: brochures, flyers, packaging, business cards, stationery, signage, banners
- Handle all print production specs — bleed, CMYK, safe zones, and vendor coordination
- Ensure colour accuracy between screen and print output
Agency brand ownership
- Own Cueball's visual identity — keep it consistent, relevant, and evolving as we grow
- Design agency marketing materials, portfolio showcases, and case study layouts
- Contribute to how we pitch and present ourselves to prospective clients
Leadership & collaboration
- Lead junior designers on brand projects when required — brief them clearly, review their work, and maintain quality
- Collaborate with project managers and client-facing team members to scope and deliver on time
- Contribute to internal process improvements — how we brief, review, and deliver design work
What you bring
- 4–8 years of design experience in an agency or studio environment, with a portfolio that shows brand identity projects from strategy through to finished production
- You understand that a logo is not a brand — and you can explain that to a client and back it up with work
- Strong command of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop; proficient in Figma
- Print production expertise — you've sent files to a printer and you know what goes wrong when specs are wrong
- Experience leading brand presentations and defending design decisions with clarity and confidence
- Ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously without letting quality slip
- Some experience mentoring or reviewing junior designer work is a strong plus
- Comfortable working remotely and managing your own time across different client timelines
What we want to see in your portfolio
- At least two brand identity projects showing the full process — research, concept, identity system, guidelines, and final rollout
- Print work: at least one example of packaging, brochure, or collateral that went to production
- Digital work: social templates, digital ads, or presentation decks
- Variety of client types is a plus — shows you can adapt brand thinking across industries
We are not looking for the most polished portfolio. We are looking for clear thinking behind the work.
You're right for this role if…
- You've worked in an agency before and you understand the pace and pressure that comes with it
- You treat client brands with the same care you'd give your own
- You can switch from a brand strategy conversation in the morning to preparing a print file in the afternoon — and do both well
- You don't need to be told when something looks off — you see it yourself and fix it
- You want to build something, not just deliver it
This role is not right if you're looking for a pure execution role or you need a senior to make every brand decision for you.
Tools
- Adobe Illustrator — identity, vector, logo work
- Adobe InDesign — print layouts, brand books, collateral
- Adobe Photoshop — photo editing, digital production
- Figma — digital assets, UI layouts, collaborative review
- Canva — client template builds
- AI tools (Midjourney, Adobe Firefly) — ideation support
What we offer
- Work on real brand projects across diverse industries and client types
- Ownership of Cueball's own brand as we grow — your work will define how we're seen
- A creative team that respects the craft and doesn't dilute design by committee
- Fully remote work environment with flexible hours
- Competitive salary based on experience and portfolio
- Software and equipment allowance
- Monthly internet allowance — we cover your connectivity costs
- Gym membership coupon — we believe in looking after the person, not just the work
- A clear path to Senior Brand Designer or Creative Lead as the agency grows
